Gareth Cliff is departing from 5FM after a decade-long duration with the station.
Gareth Cliff announced on air and social media on Monday
morning that it was his last show on 5FM after a decade at the SABC.
"It's time for a change. My team and my audience are
like my dysfunctional radio family and we want to offer something new and
exciting. After two suspensions and several close-shaves, dozens of BCCSA
complaints and almost as many management changes at the SABC, it’s time to get
unhinged!" Gareth said in a statement released by his manager on Monday
morning.
He will be joined by his co-workers who are also leaving the
station. Leigh-Ann Mol, has also left 5FM. Executive Producer Thabo Modisane
and Thabo’s Assistant Damon Kalvari and Mabale Moloi are also following
Gareth's route.

confirmed that "Gareth is leaving and no it's not an April Fool's
joke"
He also didn't mention what his next venture will be.
Last night the Divine Edge "diva" announced during her show that she is parting ways with metro FM. She said she will be keeping everyone posted on her website carolralefeta.com on what she will be venturing into next. PR and Communications manager for the station, Happy Ngidi spoke to Daily Sun about her departure, “She has decided to pursue other opportunities and as much has we would have liked to keep her on, we respect her decision and would never have stopped her,” she said. Happy said that the host who will be replacing Carol's show will be announced tomorrow. “But as you all know, radio stations go through reshuffling around this time of year and we’re no different. After 21 years of being a couple, with their civil partnership that took place in 2005 when the same-sex civil union partnership law, came into effect in England and Wales in December of that year. Sir Elton John,67 ,and his partner David Furnish,51, are planning to tie the knot again. They have announced plans to marry in May, only this time in a low-key celebration.
"We don’t feel the need to take an extra step legally," David revealed on Friday. "But since we’re committed for life, we feel it’s really important to take that step, and take advantage of that amazing change in legislation. We all live by example." He was speaking to the Las Vegas review-journal.

Of all the people that Kim and Kanye could have included on their wedding guest list Winnie Mandela was the least of my thoughts. I mean how random is that? The duo invited Winnie Mandela to their Parisian-themed wedding which is taking place on the 27th of May this year. What do they know about Winnie? (other than she was Mandela's wife) they're not even friends (well in my mind I don't see them as such) I mean I'd understand if Jennifer Hudson was the one who invited her because she was playing Winnie in her newly released Biopic (Winnie: The movie) which was an EPIC fail by the way.
Reports claim that Winnie, apparently, wasn't consulted with the movie's production. Now I did watch the movie and I agree with an article's question which I read a few weeks ago asking whether if Winnie was done a disservice by the movie. Well yes, I personally viewed her in a different perspective after watching the Stompie saga, which I took it upon myself to research about it more (because I was intrigued) and I stumbled upon old articles from the early 90's written about it. I was gobsmacked!

Naomi is part of the celebrities who don't seem to understand the logic behind why the soon-to-be wed couple should be on a Vogue cover. Victoria Beckham penned down her thoughts in an open letter that she wrote to Anna Wintour (Vogue's Editor-In-Chief) clearly in disbelief why Ms Wintour would choose to place Kim on the cover (and not her) who's really famous for well...nothing, other than that Ray J sex tape which eventually put her and the kardashian clan on the map with their hit "reality TV show" Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Ms Wintour had this to say to back herself up for the cover... Gwyneth Paltrow, 41, and her husband Chris Martin,37, have shared a post on her GOOP website last night (24 March) announcing their separation after ten years of marriage. It's not clear yet what may have caused the split between the two after a decade long marriage but reports claim that the actress is the one who suggested a split.
They share two children together Apple,9, and Moses,7, inside their matrimony. An exclusive source to the HollywoodLife.com website reported that Chris was desperate to find a way to keep their love alive. He was willing to do anything apparently to make things work with Gwyneth and it's been reported that now that it's over he's crushed.
"Chris is devastated," added the source. "He suggested counselling, he even suggested they move back to London ultimately that just didn't work out for them.
"Now they'll have to figure out custody because he loves those kids more than anything. He's very hurt."
The actress and Coldplay lead band member's marriage has been subject to rumours since last year about it being in shambles and it may also appear to be that the new "magic" single released by Coldplay may be about Gwyneth as Chris sings about being "broken into two" by his lady love but still calls their strained romance " magic" reports HollywoodLife.com.

Now I'm not into Hip Hop or rapping or any of that vulgar violence inciting type of music, so my views here are solely based on this certain artist's conduct in this interview that he had. This is no critique nor criticism but I certainly do think that I hold the right to air my views unapologetically!
In my mind the objective of this blog is to update my fellow pop culture readers on what is steaming behind the curtains of the pop culture world, morphing it into a gossipy tabloid was definitely not my intentions, as I do believe that what I'm about to say will view it as such. Really Future?????
Hip Hop artist Future, of whom some might know him now as "Ciara's fiance" or "baby daddy" was having an interview with talk show host Wendy Williams. Wendy is known for slightly insulting celebrity's demeanours and for her outspoken personality- which is what endeared her to my heart. She owns the show and knows how to impose those awkward and hide-away questions that normal people like you and me wouldn't have the guts to ask to someone else.
Now she was doing an interview with Future. Now we all love Future's music and I do believe there are die hard fans of Future's music- nothing wrong with that. The dude sat for approximately ten minutes for the entirety of the interview on that purple couch and slurring what we couldn't even hear! I get it that maybe he was high, but heck we do have high rappers who attend interviews but still make a killa out of 'em. Is this what you do when you're sitting with your friends Future? Mumble something out of literally nothing and wait for someone to prompt you before you give a one word sentence of what we can't even hear?
Ciara girl what have you been thinking?! Heck you're gonna marry this guy! This is going to be the father of your kids, is this the kinda daddy he's going to be to your unborn son (It's been reavealed that the sex of the baby is a boy) What does he do to you when you conversate? Sit beside you and let you do most of the talking? Oh wait! "No. we enjoy each other's companionship. We enjoy long silences, we don't have to talk." Bullshit!
That guy sounded like someone who has no educational background, he sounded unintelligent (I'm not saying I am) he sounded "less than smart" (In my Wendy Williams tone) he looked utterly dumb. Wendy herself was actually running out of anything to ask him but because she's a talk show host, she's expected to run the show with eloquence and flair.
And than he signed off with well....what he's known for, rapping, which atleast got Wendy and the audience to forget a bit of the preceding few minutes. I immediately scrolled down the youtube comments amid watching the clip wanting to see what the self-appointed pop culture commentators had to say as I know they can be very harsh in their "honesty." And just as I thought they never seem to disappoint they "said it like they mean it" (In Wendy Williams' voice-I need to snap my fingers to go with that) but boy, Ciara?
....I hope you know what you getting yourself into girl. The guy already has four children from different women-If he pays child support for them I'm not sure, but I do hope that this is not the type of "daddy" he is at home-if he's like that, then we all know that marriage won't last three seconds longer- that's if ya'll eventually get married.

But Scott's family allegedly wants her to be buried near her childhood home in Utah. Scott was raised in Roy, Utah, by her adoptive parents, Ivan and Lula Bambrough, who are Mormon. Her adoptive parents are deceased, and the names of their three children — L'Wren, her brother Randall and sister Jan — are etched into their gravestone at a cemetery in North Ogden, Utah, according to Foxnews.com. Some members of Scott's family, including her sister Jan, have been left out of the funeral planning and only heard about the burial from what they've read in the papers, a source close to the family has revealed. E! News claims that Mick Jagger's rep confirmed on Saturday that L'Wren Scott, 49, will be laid to rest in Los Angeles. No date has been set for the funeral.

Kanye West (36) is allegedly buying his fiance Kim Kardashian (33) ten Burger King restuarants as part of his wedding gift for her.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: ''As always, Kanye is thinking outside the box when it comes to gifts for Kim.
''She owns all the jewels anyone could ever want, so he is taking the practical route by investing in businesses for her instead.
''He knows the fast food industry is reliable and lucrative, plus BK is international so he thinks it's the perfect fit for Kim.

West- who also owns Fatburger Bistros in Chicago through his company KW foods LLC wants the reality TV star to step away from the reality show allegedly and start carving out a career for herself as a business woman.

R&B songstress Kelly Rowland has reportedly left her record label Universal Music after releasing only two studio albums under the label.
Reports claim the singer departed from the label way back in December, although speculations are rife that she has been dropped.
Kelly is said to have requested a release from her contract due to poor sales of her last year's critically acclaimed album 'Talk A Good Game' which sold only 215,000 copies in total.
The situation is alleged to have been fuelled when Kelly signed on as judge on the third season of the US X Factor. The label chose not to capitalize off of Rowland’s involvement on the show and the singer asked to be released from her contact."

L'Wren Scott "struggled" to deal with being adopted as a baby.
An ex-lover of the fashion designer, Scott Tugel, 50 - who met L'Wren in the late 1980s and dated her for four months - claimed her issues stemmed from childhood because she hated that she was taken on by a Mormon family in Utah when she was a child.
He told The Sun newspaper: "She didn't want to talk about her previous life. She was creating a new identity for herself.
"She would get really down and solemn about being adopted. I think she struggled with that her entire life.
"Her adoptive parents did a great job and she loved them deeply. But I think that was the cause of her problems."
Meanwhile, her siblings Randall Bambrough and Jan Shane - who were also adopted by the devout couple - are hoping she will be laid to rest in her hometown where her family can mourn her peacefully.
Rob Shane, her brother-in-law, said previously: "Jan is hoping that Randy will do the right thing and bring L'Wren back to Utah. The family has a plot at a cemetery in North Ogden, and she would like her sister buried by their parents."
L'Wren - who was known as Luann Bambrough growing up - was particularly close to her brother, but hadn't spoken to her sister since the passing of their mother in 2008.

Reports claim that the designer was on the verge of bankruptcy as she was in debt of $6 million and had been planning to close her business, LS Fashion LTD, this week. This comes after she allegedly cancelled her London fashion show in January. Her longtime beau Sir Mick Jagger (70) who cancelled the Rolling Stones tour concert after he heard the news of her passing denies reports that he was ending their relationship after 13 years of courtship. Nor should any credence be given to reports of a breakup with Mick. It's rubbish."
No further details have been yet disclosed about her funeral arrangements but reports claim that her adoptive parents would like her to be laid in the family's cemetery plot.
Popular breakfast show co-hosts Unathi Msengana and Glen Lewis might be on the verge of a split. Rumours have been making rounds that Glen is not happy with unathi’s “condescending” ways.
According to Sunday Sun he’s been trying to break away from Unathi for several years and the only thing keeping them together is the contract he’s signed.The legendary DJ had allegedly lodged a complaint in the past but was told he’s contract-bound to work with Unathi. This allegedly happened after Glen officially requested to be removed from the breakfast team in 2012. Apparently, he was told that his contract ends this year.
They've had a great relationship on air for years. Their show, The Avenue with Glen & Unathi has been an authentication of Metro FM’s reign as one of South Africa’s best radio stations.
SA gossip website Zalebs.com reports that Glen clearly feels disillusioned with his life on The Avenue at the moment, and Unathi who scored a gig as idols judge two years ago has since “changed.”
A senior staff member at the station told Sunday Sun that they might no longer work together when the new line-up gets announced in April. The tabloid newspaper reported that a producer at the station said things are tense in the studio.
“The sad part is that Unathi won’t have The Avenue show to herself. If Glen is out, it means she’ll have to go somewhere else, but Glen feels Unathi antagonises everyone. He feels that she is rude to the listeners.
“And even the marketing team feels that Unathi is too much,” added the producer who reported on a case of anonymity.
Charismatic TV presenter Bonang Matheba, former Miss SA 1992 Amy Kleinhans-Curd and Destiny MAN’s editor Kojo Baffoe will be the three new judges joining the judging panel on selecting the next Miss SA. They have been announced as the new judges for the reality TV show that had recently caused quite a controversy when DJ Black coffee who was, one of the judges resigned. Coffee’s resignation came after he discovered that he was related to one of the contestants through marriage.
He said: “I hold the Miss South Africa brand in high repute and am hugely impressed by the calibre of entrants in this year’s competition.
"However, I feel that the fair way forward from this most unfortunate and unintended circumstance is to resign as a judge.”
Taking over his position as judge will be the three renowned personalities mentioned above who will be sharing the judging panel with Highveld stereo’s Anele Mdoda and Glamour magazine editor Pnina Fenster.

Flashing lights hit-maker didn't attend the court hearing and rather entered the plea through his lawyer.
He was sentenced to two years of probation, 24 anger management therapy sessions and 250 hours of community service.
According to Timeslive.com West was charged with misdemeanour counts of battery and grand theft after an altercation at LAX with photographer Daniel Ramos in July.
The photographer claimed Kanye punched him in an unprovoked attack and wrestled his camera to the ground during the altercation.
